Mariola C. Kalinska (Senior Director, Commercial Rights and Talent Licensing at Greenlight):  Mariola’s career began at Wall Street’s international entertainment content law firm dealing with intellectual property and international media matters. Thereafter, she worked for Zomba Music and Sony BMG, negotiating placing music and artists in film, television, advertising, and  games. Mariola  has been with Greenlight for 12 years,  leading the advertising rights team in North America,  focusing on securing all necessary rights to content, film, and talent for brands and advertising agencies, helping them  with selecting inspiring and iconic content rights.

Starting her career in the Photo Traffic department at Entertainment Weekly Magazine twenty years ago, Erin is now Senior Photo Editor for Scholastic Library Book Publishing, where she is responsible for the cover and interior photography of 100+ non-fiction children’s books per year.  Erin has experience with both sides of the aisle in the photo industry, working 14 years as a Senior Photo Researcher with Corbis Images.

Mike is a new Photo Editor at WW Norton with many years of experience in the photo and publishing industries, most recently from John Wiley & Sons, Scholastic Books, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Mike was the Photo Specialist at Wiley, managing and organizing photos and permissions for 120 titles annually, and he was the photo editor on a variety of college projects that included calculus, physics and culinary titles. Most recently, Mike has freelanced for Scholastic as a photo editor and the Gates Foundation, where he edited photo shoots and managed the digital asset management system. Prior to his work in publishing, he worked at Corbis Images as Senior Photo Research Executive and as Contributor Relations Representative.

Elizabeth Klinck has been offering archive research and copyright clearance workshops, often as part of international film festivals or markets, universities and film schools, and documentary conferences for the past 15 years.

Elizabeth will share with us what she has learned about the international archival scene over the years, tips for finding “never before seen” material found in a timely manner for a very low budget , clearance shortcuts, and making new connections work in a changing marketplace.

Elizabeth Klinck has worked as producer, researcher and clearance specialist on numerous North American, UK, European and international documentary films that have garnered Emmy, FOCAL, Peabody and Oscar awards. She has led workshops at universities and international film festivals and markets.

Nominated for an American Emmy, three times for Best Visual Researcher at the FOCAL Awards, she has won the Canadian Screen Award five times. In 2008 she was honored with the FOCAL Lifetime Achievement Award.

Elizabeth was the founding chairperson for ten years of the Visual Researchers’ Society of Canada.
